For the other WoW addicts on my flist - if you ever roll Horde on Earthen Ring, I recommend Alea Iacta Est to you. Here's a letter I'm sending them tonight.
Dear officers of Alea Iacta Est,
Hello from the Alliance side. We've seen your guild members around a
great deal, of course, and have had some nice interactions with them,
but the one we just had this evening really shone out, and we wanted
to tell you about it.
Our party of two - Ellemir, lvl 64 human mage and Damonpike, lvl 63
human warrior, were off on our first quest for Scryer rep, going for
Sunfury signets in Terokkar Forest. As we entered the area, we saw a
troll hunter, Centurion Rnoop, and his pet, off to the right. We
figured him for another Scryer like ourselves, waved, and went off to
the left to hunt another area.
A bit later we cleared a building and found a night elf in a cage with
an escort quest to free her so she could return to Allerian
Stronghold. Okay, sure, we'd go for it. As we came out of the
building, Rnoop started helping us out - taking on mobs that were
attacking us or about to, dividing up the forces so that we didn't get
overwhelmed. He followed along with us all the way to the gate and
completion, helping along the way. Basically, he escorted our escort
quest. He made it a lot easier, and was very kind. I hope he got a
lot of signets from it!
We've been on both the receiving and the giving end of cross-faction
escort-quest helping before, and we're all for it. It can make a
tough spot a lot easier. The first time we ran into it was when Damon
had to solo the mechanical chicken escort in Hinterlands. We got to
return the favor for the one in Tanaris - not sure, but that may have
been for one of your guildies.
In the midst of all the immaturity and nastiness that we too often run
into in the WoW world, it was so nice to see a fine example of good
sportsmanship and nobility.
Cheers to Centurion Rnoop, and our thanks.
