spelling rant
Mar. 26th, 2004 01:15 pmI just have to rant here a bit, this was fired off by an otherwise amusing article on the Mars rovers,
Get your spelling right, especially if you're publishing something!
I get annoyed when I see someone write "sneak peak". Unless there's a mountain trying to creep up behind you, it's not a sneak peak, it's a sneak peek. Or the times someone writes "it peeked his interest" when what they mean is "it piqued his interest". There are many examples of these. Your/you're is another one that gets mangled. There are SO many other homonyms that people misuse badly. To me it says the person writing really doesn't know what the words are.
I wish I could get a job as a proofreader. Okay, rant over, I feel better for getting that off my chest.
