sock update
Apr. 18th, 2004 09:23 pmSock update - I FINISHED the first broadripple sock. (Well, my Triple Ripple sock, sock yarn modified for large size)
bkseiver may be pleased to know that her advice was right, dropping down to 36 stitches for heel flap and foot was right, I did that by dropping the y/os in the last pattern row. Did the same on the top when I reached the start of the toe increases, so both parts had the same number of stitches.
Finished it LATE last night - part of why I was so tired this morning was I was SO determined to finish it. I really wanted to cast on the 2nd sock immediately, but was just too tired and my eyes were too sore to do it. Cast it on this morning - took THREE tries and frogging mistakes, but it's going now. Most of the way through the garter ripple part of the cuff. I'm not entirely pleased with how this variegated yarn has worked for it. I think it would have been better in a solid color. Oh, well, it's my first lace sock, and I'm learning a lot, and it will be a perfectly wearable pair of nice socks, even if the color doesn't show off the pattern to its best advantage.
