celticdragonfly: (Knitting patterns - Dumbledore)
I just got mail from Lettuce Knit.

It's my kit for the Tulip baby cardigan

The little balls of yarn are so CUTE! And I love the pattern, marvelous construction. I'm swatching. This is going to be fun. I suspect I may need to buy some needles, as it calls for 7s and 5s, and if I get gauge I need to go get more 5s.

I gotta find out if this lady's putting together more kits. This one is adorable. And the Dream In Color yarn is vibrant and beautiful and SUPERWASH.

Okay, so I started swatching for the Tulip baby cardigan. Worsted weight, uses 2 sizes of needles, wants a gauge of 4.5 stitches per inch on the larger size. I started with 7, what they recommended. That got 5 stitches per inch. So I frogged it out and started again on size 8. That got - 5 stitches per inch. Waitaminute. Grrrr.

That's annoying. Also, I don't think I even HAVE any size 9's. I've got a long size 10.5 circular...

I need to go upstairs shortly and hunt through my needles, and make sure I've gotten all of the old ones off the chaos that is my desk, but I think I'm going to have to go buy more needles before I can even continue swatching.
