Here's our dessert tonight.

Apple Pi!

Made in the cake pan, since of course pi are square.

Here's to geeky desserts.

And here it is after baking.

We've just finished dinner, and after a short break we will dig into the Pi. Oh, and we'll have it with ice cream.

Food Geekiness, I love it! Then there was the time I sent Jared to work at a computer-type lab with his 33rd birthday cake, with the digits "21" on top. It was hexidecimal!

Maybe you should post your photos to [community profile] food_porn, my newest fave LJ foodie community.

And you got some lovely positive comments there too, like "best dessert ever" and recipe requests. You're a hit!

Yeah, and the recipe request makes me realize I'm in trouble! What recipe? I used Pillsbury rollout premade dough, grabbed a can of sliced apples, and just made slight modifications to the recipe on the can - used apple cider instead of the drained juice plus more apple juice, added a bit of cloves to the sugar/cornstarch/cinnamom mixture on top. That's it. No crust recipe at all, I bought 'em!

I know you guys are newcomers to Texas, but I'm glad to see you remembered the a la mode.

TBF, running away.

*snicker* Culinary punnage! Love it!

We had cherry pi. The boys were all excited because they assumed they were going to get Really Big Pieces (working on the assumption that the pi would be cut into 3.1415... pieces, of course).
