Just got back from finally getting my hair trimmed. My usual hairdresser has not had any Saturday openings, the only time I've had Karl available easily for the kids. So she recommended someone who's there on Sunday. Seems to have turned out okay. I don't think she's used to dealing with someone with this much hair - either length or thickness. And somehow they're always astonished when they ask me what I use on it, what I put on it - well, shampoo and conditioner, a comb, and a gentle elastic for the daily braid. That's it. Hair goop, egh. Anyway, hopefully the ends won't be in such bad tangly shape. I've had a finger on my left hand in a splint after accidentally slamming it in the closing stroller Friday, so I haven't been able to braid it - poor Karl had to try to braid it for me yesterday. I don't appreciate how much muscle memory I have trained in my hands to do a really tight braid until I try to explain it verbally.

Karl's off with Maggie to pick up Brendan. We had a bit of an outing earlier today. Saw a local house with open house signs yesterday - and realized that if we DO get this hoped-for transfer to Texas, I'll be househunting while Karl's working - so it might be nice for us to wander some local open houses together, not with any interest in the real estate market here, but to discuss what things we do and do not like about houses, so I'll have a better idea of what his reaction to a hypothetical house out there would be. We saw 3, one up in Rolling Hills and 2 nearby. The first one was lovely, the 2nd a bad layout, the 3rd just too small. The first, wow.... well, the price shows why we want to move. Apparently the home of a concert pianist. The grand piano in the living room doesn't attract much notice, but the 2nd one in the sitting room of the master bedroom does! (with framed concert posters over it) Nice house, beautifully decorated. I look forward to a hopeful househunt after the hoped-for move.

Reading more Heyer books - got more from the library, discovered part of the collection was in Large Print. Aha. I go through them wayyyy too fast. I look forward to eventually owning them all as they're reprinted.
