I got to try to explain Veteran's day to Maggie this morning. I figured she was old enough for me to start, anyway, although I don't think she'll get it for years. She looked quizzical. We'll keep at it every year. I expect tonight when we're all home we should have one of our traditional holiday oratories and read something appropriate to them. Flanders Fields, I expect.

My deep thanks to all the veterans out there. I know my safe protected life doesn't come free.

This is the first year I'm not playing taps at 11am. I simply forgot my trumpet today. That, and seeing that there's another class in my room at 11am, it's probably a good thing.
