I think Maggie might be starting to read. We were walking through the Walmart last night to come look for Karl in hardware to ask if he'd remembered to bring in his watch, and passed through the decor and floral section. There was one thingy - white, rectangular thing, I think it was a light, had a vaguely crown shaped thing drawn on it - pretty stylistic, really - and the word "princess". A moment later Maggie started chattering at me that she'd seen princess! So I'm not sure, but it could be.

It certainly would be an appropriate word for her to start with.

I'm not sure if she actually was reading it. Today I was doing e-flashcards with her - see, we haven't bothered with flashcards, but we have Powerpoint, and have a presentation of just enormous letters - and she gets *most* of the alphabet. But when I tried her on words like Maggie, Mama, Cat, she wasn't getting them. She did want me to put up Princess Maggie, but I don't think she was reading it. So maybe not. We did have a nice practice though.
