I just ordered the buttons for my braids cardigan!

Seriously cool pewter site - http://www.threefeatherspewter.com

A very nice lady just took my order for the small Celtic weave buttons. I think they will go nicely with the braid design. And OMG they're handmade and that inexpensive? Wheee.

Sadly, the braids sweater is now on hold. The 2nd shoulder is joined, and the next thing for me to do would be to start the button bands.

My left shoulder and right hand are bothering me a lot today, so possibly the last few days of knitting flurry have overdone it. I will let things rest for a while. Then... then I'll start something else while I'm waiting. I should get back to the gray scarf, but it's fiddly involved lace, so not this week. I think I'll start a sock pattern from one of my Christmas present books.

Pretty!!

Unless they're using a modern lead-free alloy, be careful of the kids potentially getting them in their mouths. You can get lead poisoning from pewter.

Y'know, I was going to ask them that, but I forgot. Maybe I should email them.

Nope, the website says:

Using a lead-free alloy developed in the late 1790’s, Three Feathers Pewter ® creates functional pieces in the Early American style, including plates, goblets, spoons, bowls, and candlesticks as well as buttons from various historical periods and jewelry of traditional symbols and shapes.
So we're good.
