I have finished the leg section of the 2nd sock and started on the heel flap. Yay!

Just fyi - the cuff and leg of one of these socks has, I estimate, 6500 stitches. The heel flap should go quicker, that's only 1296 stitches.

How do you like Essential, compared to other sock yarns you've used? I haven't tried it yet, though I've done one pair in Simply Stripes and two in Dancing. (Simply Stripes is nice and soft; Dancing feels bumpy even on #1 needles, but I can stand wearing it in summer.)

I've liked it. I've made a pair for myself and a pair for Karl, and now this pair is also for me. It's a workhorse yarn, simple, which is what I wanted. It's not super luxurious, but it seems fairly dependable. It is certainly way better than Wildfoote, which I found too thin and splitty and am never using again. Magic Stripes is a bit thicker, and I think Regia may be slightly thicker, but I think Patons Kroy was thinner.

I'll keep making more socks from it. I'm enjoying the brown maple leaf socks I finished.

I think I need to experiment with heels more - honestly, my standard heel is a bit loose on me.
