Crumpets anyone?

I'm looking at the Tea Rose color Cotton Fleece yarn I have to make a dress for Maggie out of. Looks like this dress is the one I'm going to do:

I'm trying to decide what color beads to go with - try to find a contrasting pink? Lilac? White?
Also wondering if I should order them to be mailed to me, or if anybody knows of a good place in the DFW area that sells size 6 glass seed beads? I don't know much about beads. Points for being on the FW side of things.

Date: 2006-04-13 12:07 pm (UTC)Yesterday I was on my way out to Euless, so we stopped by the Rufe Snow store. Where they managed to REALLY piss me off. I know I don't really know from beads. But I have gotten a good enough idea that "size 6 glass seed bead" is a pretty specific set of requirements. It ought to be enough to get me led to the seed beads. But noooo. I got this absolute idiot man who was trying to ask me "but what kind do you want?" "Size Six Glass Seed Beads". Then he was trying to tell me that I wanted 6 mm - I have figured out that with seed beads, bigger numbers apparently means smaller beads, so I know that's wrong. Total idiot. If he didn't know from beads, saying "I don't know from beads, let me get you someone who does", that would have gotten my respect. I walked out in a huff, which was annoying since there'd been other stuff I was planning to shop for, too.
