celticdragonfly: (Maggie and Jamie 12-04-05)

After church (and Maggie was very good in church this morning) we came home to our own Easter Egg hunt. Unlike the Saginaw one, this one they were actually going to have to find the eggs!

Karl took the kids upstairs and I hid the eggs. We managed to fill plastic eggs and dye real eggs[1] yesterday without the kids ever seeing them. I also had an egg bubble thingie, an egg kaleidoscope, an egg bouncy ball, a plush bunny, and a pastel plastic bead bracelet for Maggie.

The kids had a good time. Maggie excelled, but with Karl's help Jamie still had a good time and reasonably filled his basket.

Then we came in and let them open one of the plastic eggs each, filled with chocolate eggs. And Maggie ate her white chocolate bunny, generously sharing bites with the rest of us.

[1] Yeah, Jamie can't have those. But he can put them in a basket. I'll eat his, yum.

Awwww cuuuuute!

I bet this must be one of the big days of the years for people who sell cameras and film, or batteries and storage cards, depending upon the tech level of the parents.

Just plain dyed eggs. You can't eat pysanky eggs, after all. I haven't done any of those lately. I had to throw out all the dyes before I moved, they won't let you move those. I need to find a source to buy more, probably online. I was thinking maybe I do it again next year.

Man, we have to get out there for a visit. They've both grown so much I barely recognize them! Maggie looks so sweet in her frilly dress, I bet she loved that.

Hey, twist our arm, come for a visit!

You think they look different - wait until you get into a conversation with Maggie!

*giggle* I can't wait to come discuss art and philosophy with her. No politics, though. ;)
