I had planned to post about the weekend, and then Monday happened to me. Monday afternoon someone asked me about my weekend, and my reply was "Um. weekend? there was a weekend. Trying to remember." So having put it back together, now I can post about it.

I went out and saw Pirates of Caribbean 2 with friends. Then we went out to dinner. A Grand Experiment was proposed, to see if we could find any Mexican food I could eat. I've never cared for the stuff, but I figured tastes change, and I should give it a try. Well. There were, sadly, lots of things that I didn't care for, or could tolerate but didn't enjoy. It really came down to I liked the strawberry daiquiri and the sopapillas for dessert. The fajita chicken with nothing but sour cream on it was okay. I did like the strawberry daiquiri, definitely. And anytime I had something spicy I'd end up taking another long drink... pretty soon sure enough, the rum was all gone, wheee.

Then Saturday there was gaming at [livejournal.com profile] fordprfct and [livejournal.com profile] kattelyn's house and cake and presents for [livejournal.com profile] kattelyn's birthday.

Sunday morning as posted I was assistant minister for the 8 am service, and then did a bunch of VBS prep afterwards. After a much-needed afternoon nap for the whole family, we went off to a D&D gaming session, now that our DM is no longer working inconvenient shifts. We finally got to meet his wife, another gamer, who I think was very interesting. We had a good gaming session, and more CAKE, and ice cream. Yum.

I used to not like Mexican food. Then I spent a semester in Wales eating British cafeteria food and started craving it. I don't like spicy-hot things - I can only tolerate a little bit - but nachos and tacos and carne guisada and various other non-chilli-laden things are good.

I discovered after living in Denver that I liked Tex-Mex (norteƱos) better than New Mexico Mexican or coastal Mexican styles.
