digital camera advice?
Nov. 14th, 2003 11:54 amOkay, the old digital camera seems to have died as a result of the move trip. We need to get a new one - we'll want to send out pictures of the new baby really soon. (please, please, please make it soon...)
Anyone want to offer advice on what kind to get? I do want one that hooks up to the PC easily, preferably via USB port. Should be not too expensive, fairly easy to use. Hm, wonder if I can cannibalize the extra memory card from the old camera.
One annoying thing about the old camera I'd like to avoid is that you had to hold the button down a Long Time before it took a picture - which made life difficult once Maggie got mobile.

Date: 2003-11-14 05:33 pm (UTC)I strongly advise that you get one with a Compact Flash card (that's the standard pretty much now, there are others but they're more expensive/per MB I think) and a CF adapter, either usb or ready to install from your case. Because in ALL GOOD cameras, you can just plug the card in to your computer, bypassing the camera and copy directly to your hard drive. No fiddling with settings or annoying programs, and much faster.
