Maggie's and Jamie's stockings

Alanna's stocking. In both of these pics, you can also see the kids' nativity set.

Two happy kids getting into their stockings

Maggie digging into her stocking

Yeah, they liked their stockings very much.

Maggie displays her crown and wand. She's been wearing them a LOT since Christmas.

Alanna's first Christmas Stocking

"Whoa. I get a toy!"

"Did you see that? I get a toy!"

"I get TWO toys!"

"OMG I get more toys than I have HANDS!"

Miles gets his Christmas stocking. This was a surprise - he didn't know I was knitting it for him. When I saw the design with bears and hearts I knew I had to do it for him.

Miles' stocking had chocolates, but also had spicy stuff - like these habanero pistachios.

"Even if the voices aren't real, they have some pretty good ideas". I knew Miles would be amused by that.

*I* got a stocking! My childhood one made by my mom, filled by Karl

... and stuffed with Really Good Chocolates

Karl with his stocking, with Jamie watching

Karl got cookies and chocolates and desk toys

Karl, wearing the household Traditional Santa Hat. I usually think just of his Irish heritage - but seeing him in that, I can sure believe he has some French Canadian in his background, can't you?

And Maggie wearing the other Santa Hat, as Santa's Helper.

What could this very long package be? A total surprise, heee.

Mamaw Linda helps Alanna open her presents.

Maggie enjoys being Santa's Helper and helping hand out presents

Alanna has a Very Fine Hat! Made by Nana

And Maggie also has a Very Fine Hat!

So does Jamie. Who adores it, talks about his New Hat constantly, and wears it everywhere we go.

Alanna has puppy slippers that Maggie got for her, all on her own. But she's more interested in Mamaw Linda's chocolates just now.

Jamie has a new outfit, and insisted on changing into it immediately. With hat.

Jamie also has a new jacket, which he loves and also insists on wearing. "My new jacket!" is a phrase we hear a lot now.

Karl gets very excited over a new book.

Alanna in Mama's lap, opening the package with her BabyLegs

As lagniappe, she got baby sunglasses. She is the Coolest Baby In Town now.

"I am a happy baby with a Very Fine Hat, and a cool teether"

"And even better, Mamaw Linda to adore me and cuddle me. Bliss!"

It is a very happy Christmas. And I have new handknit socks on. Bliss indeed.

I know you have been fighting off the Martian death flu but you are a very happy looking family in those pictures. Santa did a great job.

Thank you. We are a very happy family, despite having a lot of sickness this year.

Everyone does indeed look very happy, and (as usual) your kids are totally made of cuuuuute. *grin* Those hats are awesome! I'd go so far as to say cunning.... *laugh*

Oh, they are SO much fun! They all have been. And the ones after that. Christmas is one of the things that gets lots more fun when you have sweet kids to set things up for.

Yeah--this year was more like, hey, I have a week off from work, let's get things done around the house! While I'm glad to have gotten stuff done, I'm looking forward to a more Christmasy holiday next year.

The kids are darling (I particularly like Alanna's "I have more toys than hands! Glee!") but I'm especially jealous about the hand knit Christmas. Wow.

I guess it was a reasonably hand knit Christmas. Two of the stockings are from previous years, two from this year. And the Official Santa Hat is from last year. Nana did a hat for each kid and socks for me, and oh, I knit a bag for Maggie. That didn't get photographed on Xmas, but here's one -

Thank you for sharing those -- it's a joy to watch Maggie grow, and Alanna's a precious little jewel. Jamie is really growing, too -- he's starting to look like people, not toddler. You have the truest gifts -- as someone we know once wrote: "All true wealth is biological."

Oh indeed. I am Cornelia with her jewels, and I know it. And the kids aren't the only biological wealth. Every time I look around and look at all the people who love them - the new adults that come into their lives, like their godparents and Mamaw Linda - I chortle with glee at how wealthy my children are, and feel good about it.
