WoW adventures - reaching 40

Today we were scheduled to go do the rest of Scarlet Monastery. This was with Ellemir, my mage and main charater. (And Karl's warrior and Miles' druid.) Scott had to work, and Tom was sick, but we picked up another guild member with a character at the right level, and went ahead with the 4 of us. It went pretty well. Had a few mishaps here and there, but not much until the chapel in the Cathedral section, where a runaway pulled too many ads and we wound up with a wipe. Other than that, no deaths.

At one point partway through, 3 of the 4 of us levelled within moments, all during the same fight. Whee!

I have a new fancy hat. I have an orb that I may use someday, if I can find a good +intellect one-hander. And I'm level 40. Whee! It's been an expensive day, as after the instance was done I went and got all the portal training I can get, and my mage training, and ran out to the Eastvale Logging Camp to get the riding training and my first mount. Whee, mounted speed! Pretty horsie. I want to ride everywhere!

And then we went out for a lovely family dinner with Mamaw Linda, who'd come over to play with the kids and help us out, and had a great time chatting and a good meal.

First mount is always a big deal. When I got my cat at level 40, I found myself spending the afternoon riding from Theramore to Auberdine, just to see how long it would take. (On a 40mount -- way too long. But it was still fun.)
